Pricing & Procedure of Mold Inspections ---Mold Assessment (Inspection) and Indoor Air Quality testing---
If you've experienced water damage or unusual musty odor in your home or place of business, you may be at risk of mold contamination. More than just affecting indoor air quality, molds can produce toxins that can cause serious health risks in both humans and animals. The quality of mold remediation service varies widely from company to company, and choosing the wrong one can lead to incorrect test conclusions and bad advice. A company must be licensed by the Texas Dept. of State Health Services to assess mold. Ours is MAT 0153 issued by the Texas Dept.of State Health Services. That's why it's essential to hire a qualified, licensed mold inspection agency to isolate the problem so you can stop it at the source. All assessments include an inspection with moisture testing of water stains and damage, tests for humidity and photos documenting the issues. When samples are taken, they are analyzed by a microbiologist in a local lab and included in the report with an interpretation and recommendations of what to do next. I will test the air in the home and compare it to an outdoor sample to see if there are raised levels of a particular mold spore inside. The assessment includes an inspection for signs of visible mold, water intrusion points, a lab analysis of the air samples by a microbiologist and an interpretation of all this information to assess the situation in your home and give you a course of action...if any. I am also a licensed professional real estate inspector and wood destroying insect inspector as well as licensed mold inspector. I will use all these disciplines and my 25 years experience of inspecting to help you discover any problems that exist now or may exist because of certain conditions in your home.
There are 2 different levels of assessment and testing:Visible Mold Samples and Air Sampling:
-The fee for an inspection for visible mold starts at $250 and includes site assessment, report with photos. A tape lift or swab sample of actual mold is $75 each location, incluing the lab fees and the lab interpretation of the results. Usually only one sample is needed unless multiple rooms are tested.
-The fee for the Indoor Air Quality test and assessment report starts at $450 which includes up to 2 samples, lab results, assessment report with photos and the lab interpretation of the results and recommendations. Additional samples are $75 each if needed for a larger interior space. add $25 per air sample for an expanded profile analysis which reports on more than just mold spores.
